Delhi Metro Update: Bike and taxi service app Rapido on Wednesday announced a strategic tie with the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) and the Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC). While providing details, the app stated that the metro commuters will now be able to book the tickets through the app. It further stated that the users will get several benefits, including significant discounts on metro rides, better last-mile connectivity, and special rides for women. The app emphasised that the collaboration will provide convenience to the commuters by cutting the travel time and providing better connectivity.

Rapido stated that the commuters will get remarkable discounts on the metro tickets booked through the app. It further stated that the move will boost the regional connectivity, as the commuters will have the option to travel on the metro and book bike rides on the same app.

The app further emphasised that the metro users will be able to book bike rides only for Rs 25. Apart from this, selected metro stations in the national capital will also have the designated pick-up and drop-off points. It further stated that special zones will be created for women at the busy stations to boost the accessibility.

While providing details about the strategic partnership, Rapido co-founder Aravind Sanka stated that the commuters will get the rides at a very discounted rate. He also pointed out the first ride will be free for all the commuters.

“We are making metro ticketing available on our platform with the help of ONDC and DMRC,” Sanka was quoted as saying by PTI. “To encourage adoption, the first ride will be free for all users who book their metro tickets through the Rapido app,” he added. He further emphasised that the app will also announce other benefits in the upcoming few days to provide convenience to the commuters.
