Delhi Metro Update: The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation will operate extra trains on Sunday for the UPSC (Union Public Service Commission) aspirants to provide them with a feasible commute medium early in the morning to reach their examination centres. The move also aims to alleviate potential overcrowding caused by a surge in the number of commuters due to the scheduled exam. 

Delhi Metro Additional Services On Sunday: Route And Timing

According to a statement released by DMRC on Thursday, services on certain metro lines on May 25 will begin their operation earlier than usual time on Sundays to cater for the needs of UPSC candidates heading towards their examination centres. 

Services from terminal stations on Line 7 (Pink Line), Line 8 (Magenta Line) and Line 9 (Grey Line) will start at 6 am on Sunday instead of 7 am. Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) said that early operations in the morning will help candidates reach their exam centres on time.

On the pink line, trains will begin the journey at 6 am from their terminal stations. For the route of Majlis Park- Shiv Vihar, the train will begin the journey from Majlis Park at 6 am, and the train en route from Shiv Vihar and Maujpur to Babarpur will start from the supposed station one hour earlier than usual time. Similarly, on the Magenta Line, trains will start at 6 am from Janakpuri West and Botanical Garden.

Services from Krishna Park Extension will start a little earlier at 5:50 am. On the Grey Line, services will start at 6 am from both Dhansa Bus Stand and Dwarka Terminal. 

In a statement, DMRC Principal Executive Director Anuj Dayal said that this arrangement has been made for the convenience of the candidates appearing for the Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination to be conducted by the UPSC this Sunday.

Trains on all other metro lines and routes will operate as per the usual timing and frequency.
