Delhi Metro Update: The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has reopened two gates at Lal Quila Metro Station days after they were shut following the blast near the Red Fort that claimed 12 lives and injured several others. The gates were opened on Saturday, restoring partial access for passengers on the Violet Line.
In an update shared on X, the DMRC said, "Gate number 2 & 3 at Lal Quila Metro Station are now open for commuters."
The station had been closed on Thursday as a precaution while security agencies continued their investigation into the explosion. At the time, the DMRC had announced a full closure of the station, suspending both entry and exit.
According to the earlier advisory, "The Lal Quila Metro Station will remain closed till further notice due to security reasons. All other metro stations and lines are functioning as per schedule."
The Lal Quila station is an important stop for visitors heading to the Red Fort, Jama Masjid and the busy Chandni Chowk area. The temporary shutdown had led to inconvenience for daily commuters and tourists, especially during peak visiting hours.

Meanwhile, new CCTV footage from the Red Fort Metro Station has revealed the impact of the powerful blast. The video released by PTI shows the station shaking moments after the explosion. Commuters are seen walking normally when a loud boom occurs, causing visible tremors. A man standing at a food counter freezes in shock as panic spreads. People rush to escape, while a police officer inside the station is seen guiding and directing them during the chaos.
