During the construction of the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway, these constructions became a hindrance in the route alignment. At that time, the administrator of the authority was Pradeep Dahiya. He had made full preparations to demolish all the constructions.

The Baroli villagers had gone to the Union Minister of State Krishnapal Gurjar for this matter.
An elevated bridge was built to save the illegal construction. The alignment of the expressway was changed so that illegal constructions are not demolished.

An elevated bridge was built from Sector-17 bridge to Sarvodaya Chowk so that illegal constructions are not demolished. For this, the green belt towards the sectors was destroyed. Thousands of trees were sacrificed. Former NIT MLA Neeraj Sharma raised this issue in the assembly but nothing could be done due to vote bank politics. Even today, rent in lakhs is coming from illegally constructed showrooms and shops.

“Illegal constructions along the expressway have been identified. Their number is around 145. All of them will be demolished. Public announcements are being made to warn all builders to take away their belongings. Demolition is going to happen soon,” said Rajpal, Survey SDO, Authority.
