Delhi NCR Weather Today: Residents of the National Capital Region experienced further relief from the heat as light to moderate rain lashed parts of the capital city and neighbouring Noida early Saturday morning. After a decent rainfall, waterlogging was witnessed in several parts of Delhi. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), cloudy skies and light thunderstorms in Delhi and Noida have been predicted over the weekend, with isolated rainfall expected throughout the day.
This comes a day after the IMD issued a rainfall alert, saying that light to moderate rains will continue to lash Delhi and Noida until July 17. The rainfall warning led Noida authorities to alert residents in low-lying areas to relocate to higher ground for a few days, expecting a rise in the Yamuna River's water levels due to the rain. Villages along the Yamuna River have been cautioned about potential flooding, recalling last year's heavy rains that caused significant flooding in parts of the national capital.
