Delhi Weather News: The Air Quality Index (AQI) in Delhi has turned severe as the morning in the Capital city becomes foggy ahead of winter. The city is experiencing rapid weather changes, with nights getting colder, as residents in the NCR brace for an early winter this year.
As winter is drawing closer, the pollution level is also surging, adding to the discomfort of the common people.
The weather in Delhi-NCR is gradually getting colder, with a slight chill in the morning and evening hours, while the daytime sun still provides a hint of warmth. The capital city experienced its coolest day of the season on Thursday, with temperatures dipping to around 18 degrees Celsius.
According to the meteorological department, Thursday's maximum temperature was recorded at 32.9 degrees Celsius, 0.3 degrees lower than normal, while the minimum temperature was 18.1 degrees Celsius, 1.5 degrees below normal. The humidity level remained between 39 per cent and 94 per cent.
Akshardham Records 369 AQI In Morning
The Air Quality Index (AQI) around Akshardham was recorded at 369 this morning, in the 'Very Poor' category in Delhi as per the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB).

Delhi Weather Forecast: Strong Winds Bring Colder Evenings
The weather department has predicted clear skies for the next 24 hours. On Friday, Delhi is expected to experience a maximum temperature of 33 degrees Celsius and a minimum of 18 degrees Celsius, with winds blowing at 10-15 km/h from the northwest direction. By evening and night, the wind direction is expected to shift to the north, with speeds below 12 km/h.
Air Quality Begins To Deteriorate As Winter Draws Closer
According to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), the average Air Quality Index (AQI) in Delhi remained at 240 as of 7:00 am on Friday. In the National Capital Region (NCR), the AQI levels were:
- Faridabad: 155
- Gurugram: 158
- Ghaziabad: 142
- Greater Noida: 147
- Noida: 145
Most areas in Delhi recorded AQI levels between 200 and 300, while some areas had levels between 100 and 200.
