Railway News: Anticipating an increase in passenger traffic due to the upcoming festivals, the Malda Division has announced the operation of special passenger trains between Bhagalpur, Sahibganj, and Banka. Both trains will stop at all stations along the route for passenger convenience.
The Sahibganj-Bhagalpur Passenger Special train will run daily from October 18 to October 30. The train will leave Sahibganj at 10:00 am and reach Bhagalpur at 11:50 am, jagran.com reported.

On its return journey, the train will depart Bhagalpur at 12:30 pm and arrive in Sahibganj at 2:10 pm. Similarly, the Bhagalpur-Banka special passenger train will run daily from October 24 to October 30.
This train will depart Bhagalpur at 8:50 pm and arrive in Banka at 10:35 pm. On its return journey, it will depart Banka at 11:00 pm and arrive in Bhagalpur at 1:30 am.
PRA Guddu Sah said that both the special trains will stop at all the stations, so that passengers will not face any inconvenience in travelling during the festival.
In another update, to accommodate the rush of passengers during the Diwali and Chhath festivals, North Eastern Railway will operate a record number of special trains. A total of 122 Puja Special trains will run, completing 2,484 trips to various destinations across the country.
Of these, 80 special trains will originate from stations within the North Eastern Railway zone, including Gorakhpur, Chhapra, Gomtinagar, and Mau, making 1,208 trips. An additional 42 special trains will pass through the zone, completing 1,276 trips.
According to Chief Public Relations Officer Pankaj Kumar Singh, this initiative is a response to the increased number of passengers during the festive season.
