Delhi Police Arrest Two Pannun-Linked Khalistani Sleeper Cell Operatives Over Republic Day Threats

Delhi Police arrested two sleeper cell operatives linked to Canada-based Khalistani terrorist Gurpatwant Singh Pannun of the banned outfit Sikhs for Justice. The arrests followed attempts to disrupt public order by writing pro-Khalistan slogans at two locations in the national capital ahead of the January 26 Republic Day celebrations.

According to ANI, investigators revealed that the act was part of a larger conspiracy planned from Canada, with the accused allegedly promising Rs 2 lakh to paint slogans such as “Khalistan Zindabad” to create unrest during the national celebrations.

"A close associate of Sikhs for Justice founder Gurpatwant Singh Pannun had hired the two accused to carry out the act. The entire plan was hatched in Canada, and Pannun had offered Rs. 2 lakh for this task. The mastermind, a resident of Tilak Nagar, had gone to Canada a few days before January 26th and was in direct contact with Pannun," the Delhi Police Special Cell said.

Canada Link and Local Operatives

A Canada-based associate of Pannun recruited Baljinder and Rohit, also known as Keerath, to execute the plan. Baljinder is employed as an ambulance driver in Delhi, while Rohit is said to be his accomplice. The key handler, a resident of Tilak Nagar, reportedly travelled to Canada shortly before January 26 and remained in direct contact with Pannun during the operation.

FIR Against Pannun and SFJ

Ahead of Republic Day, the Delhi Police Special Cell registered an FIR against Pannun for allegedly issuing threats to incite disturbances in Delhi. The case has been filed under multiple provisions of the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita, including sections related to promoting enmity, harming national integration, threatening India’s sovereignty, and criminal conspiracy.

Claims on Social Media

In a related development, Pannun released a video on social media claiming that his so-called “sleeper cells” had pasted pro-Khalistan posters in Delhi’s Rohini and Dabri areas, further escalating security concerns.
