Thirty officers, including eleven inspectors and nineteen sub-inspectors, from the Delhi Police Special Cell, known as the anti-terrorism unit, have been transferred. Many of the inspectors are decorated officers, some receiving out-of-turn promotions for their courageous work.

Their extended tenure within the Special Cell provided them with significant experience in interstate gangster networks. These officers have solved numerous high-profile cases in Delhi and neighboring states, contributing to the Delhi Police's reputation. This is the first large-scale transfer of veteran inspectors and sub-inspectors from the Special Cell.

Officials believe this could impact the unit's effectiveness. The transferred inspectors have been assigned to various districts and units across Delhi, including South-East, Traffic, South-West, Dwarka, North-West, Shahdara, Central, Outer, Licensing Unit, and North-East districts.

Internal disputes within the Special Cell preceded these transfers, leading to speculation about potential repercussions for the veteran inspectors. Along with Special Cell personnel, 79 other officers from different ranks and units were also transferred.
