Delhi Rain:  Heavy downpour hit several parts of the national capital and NCR cities on Saturday evening. The weather in Delhi suddenly changed after a humid Saturday afternoon, with rain bringing relief from heat and humidity to residents. The sky remained cloudy during the day.

According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the monsoon trough is active in Delhi, due to which light rain is expected to continue in Delhi, Noida, Faridabad, Gurugram and other areas adjoining the capital. The weather department issued a yellow alert for rain in Delhi on Saturday, and similar conditions are likely to prevail over the weekend.

The weather department has forecast cloudy skies with occasional lightning and thunderstorms for the next couple of days. The temperature is expected to hover around 24-36 degrees Celsius.

Delhi Weather: Heavy Showers To Continue Till July 17

As per IMD, heavy showers are likely in Delhi and surrounding areas next week as well. The maximum temperature may rise again on July 13, but the maximum temperature will remain between 32-24 degrees Celsius till July 17. The weather will remain pleasant in Delhi and adjoining cities as a heavy rain alert is in place.

Monsoon entered Delhi on June 29, though the national capital did not witness a continuous spell of heavy rain. Heavy rains lashed Delhi, Noida, Gurugram and Faridabad on Wednesday evening, leading to waterlogged areas and traffic disruptions. Similar weather conditions with light to moderate rain and partly cloudy skies are on cards for national capital.
