A man in Delhi has been allegedly robbed by bike-borne unknown individuals near Bonta Park in Kamla Nehru Ridge, police said on Wednesday.

According to police, a case has also been lodged regarding the matter.

The victim has been identified as Hari Prasad. The 36-year-old man had reported the matter to the police and filed a complaint claiming that he was looted for Rs 2.8 lakh.

Prasad, a resident of Anand Parbat told police that he was heading back after collecting a payment on behalf of his employer, Deepak Gupta who is the owner of a toy manufacturing facility in Azadpur.

The incident was reported to the Civil Lines police station, according to the police, who stated that the alleged robbery occurred on Tuesday at approximately 7:45 PM.

"He had gone to Cycle Market to collect a payment on behalf of his employer. He said he collected a total of about Rs 2.8 lakh from 8 different shops before proceeding to Deepak Gupta's residence located in Kalyan Vihar, near Model Town, around 7.45 pm," an officer said.

The officer added, "The complainant said as he reached Ridge Road, Bonta Park, he was accosted by three men on a bike. They waylaid him and took away a bag containing the money. The bag was placed under the seat of the complainant's scooter."

A case was filed by the police under various Indian Penal Code sections.

According to an official, an investigation is underway.
