Saheli Smart Cards: Check Types And Eligibility

Chief Minister Rekha Gupta in her first budget speech, announced the plan to launch Saheli Smart Cards in Delhi, allowing women and transgenders to travel for free in DTC and Cluster buses.

According to a senior DTC official, two types of cards are set to be issued to commuters - KYC-verified cards and non-KYC-verified cards. Both types of cards will comply with the National Common Mobility Card (NCMC) standard.

Non-verified smart cards will allow women and transgenders aged above 12 to travel in public buses and Delhi Metro. They can travel for free in public buses, whereas standard ticket charges will be deducted while travelling in the Delhi Metro. To avail non-verified smart cards, the applicant should be aged 12 or above and should have a valid residence proof of Delhi.
