Delhi News: A shocking case was reported in Delhi's Jamia Nagar in which a 65-year-old woman's decomposed body was found in a locked room at a flat. Her 70-year-old husband was found lying critically ill beside her in the same room. The husband is a retired music teacher at a school. The couple's 'mentally challenged' son was found sitting outside the bedroom, the HT reported. Police took the 50-year-old son to the Institute of Human Behaviour and Allied Sciences (IHBAS) after they discovered that he had a history of psychiatric illness.

According to the police, the matter came to light when they received an emergency call from the woman's relative around 11:30 pm on Sunday.

The caller was alerted by the woman's daughter, who is currently living in Hong Kong. After she failed to contact her parents, she told her relatives to consult the police.

Son Refuses To Open Doors

A dramatic scene occurred after family members rushed to the Queen's Apartments. The son refused to open the doors; however, he was responding from inside. Meanwhile, when police rushed to the spot, they tried to convince the woman's son to open the doors, but failed. Then they broke down the main gate, which had been locked from the inside.

No External Injury Spotted On Body

As the investigation progressed, HT reported that there was no signs of external injury on the woman's body, but it was in an advanced state of decomposition. The condition of the body suggested that she died a few days ago. Police took her husband, who was lying beside her, conscious, to AIIMS for emergency treatment.

Is Son A Murderer?

According to the police, there was discrimination in the son's statements. He first claimed that his parents were sleeping. Later, he confessed that he locked them in the room for a few days without food.
