A speeding car rammed through the railing of a flyover near Mukarba Chowk in the early hours of Sunday (September 14) and landed on the railway tracks near Haiderpur Metro Station. The accident left the driver injured. The car was heavily damaged, with its roof crushed, wheels in the air, and doors flung open or broken off. Debris was scattered around the crash site.

The accident occurred when the driver allegedly lost control of the vehicle while traveling from Peera Garhi toward Ghaziabad. Deputy Commissioner of Police (Outer North) Hareshwar Swami stated that a police team was immediately dispatched to the site, where they discovered the car overturned on the railway tracks beneath the Ring Road.

The driver, identified as 35-year-old Sachin Chaudhary, sustained only minor injuries to his shoulder and face. No other injuries were reported, according to news agency PTI.

According to DCP Hareshwar Swami, the car first struck the pavement, then overshot the flyover railing, rolled down a grassy slope, and finally landed upside down on the railway tracks. Wedged between the tracks, the vehicle brought train operations to a complete halt. A Ghaziabad-bound train was forced to remain stationary for nearly one and a half hours until authorities and police managed to remove the car.

After the police arrived, the vehicle was cleared from the tracks. During the operation, officers also found a blue motorcycle parked nearby. While the two-wheeler had no connection to the accident, it had been left at the spot since Saturday. Police are now tracing its owner to check whether it had been stolen, while clarifying that the two incidents are unrelated.
