Delhi Traffic Advisory: As Delhi prepares for Durga Puja celebrations across the city, the Delhi Traffic Police have issued travel advisories for commuters to ensure smooth movement. Both vehicular and pedestrian movement are expected to remain affected throughout the week.
The Durga Puja festivities scheduled to take place from today, September 28, to October 2, are expected to draw a large number of visitors. Commuters are likely to brace for heavy traffic congestion between 5 PM and 11 PM daily due to large public gatherings at pandals and celebration venues.
Durga Puja Celebrations At RK Ashram: Check Traffic Advisory
- Date And Time: The Durga Puja celebrations will be held at RK Ashram from September 28 to October 2, between 5 PM and 11 PM, Times Now reported.
- Affected Routes: Chelmsford Road, Basant Lane, Panchkuian Road & adjoining routes towards R.K. Marg and New Delhi Railway Station are likely to be affected.
- Alternate Routes: Commuters can take an alternate route via Rani Jhansi Road and Panchkuian Road to reach their destination.
Dandiya Festival At Yamuna Sports Complex
- Date and Time: The Dandiya Festival will be held at Yamuna Sports Complex on September 28 and 29 between 5 PM and 11 PM.
- Affected Routes: The Delhi Traffic Police has advised commuters to avoid Road No. 71 (Satyam Chowk–Vivekanand Mahila College) and Road No. 71A (Ashoka Niketan–Vivekanand Mahila College) as these routes are likely to remain congested during evening hours.
- Alternate Routes: Instead, the traffic will be diverted via Road No. 56 (Chaudhary Charan Singh Marg) and Road No. 57 (Maharishi Dayanand Marg).
Dandiya Mahotsav At Rugby Seven Ground, North Campus
- Date and Time: The Dandiya Mahotsav at Rugby Seven Ground, North Campus, will be held from September 27 to 28, from 5:30 PM to 9:30 PM, as reported by Times Now.
- Affected Routes: Chhatra Marg, University Marg, Sudhir Bose Marg and GTB Marg are likely to remain affected.
- Alternate Routes: St. Stephens RL, Hindu College RL, Kranti Chowk, Patel Chest & Mall Road.

The Delhi Traffic Police has urged vehicle owners to use designated parking spaces to park their vehicles and extend cooperation to the police personnel. Authorities have further advised commuters to use the Delhi Metro and avoid festival stretches during peak hours to avoid inconvenience.
