Delhi Police issued a traffic advisory on Sunday, September 21, for the Paharganj area in view of two religious processions, the 84th Annual Jain Rath Yatra, scheduled from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM, and the Annual Jal Yatra, taking place from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM. Traffic movement in and around the area is expected to remain slow and congested during this period. To manage the increased volume and ensure minimal inconvenience to commuters, special traffic arrangements and diversions have been put in place between 11:00 AM and 5:00 PM.

TRAFFIC ADVISORY FOR COMMUTERS

Commuters travelling towards New Delhi Railway Station, Connaught Place, Karol Bagh, and adjoining areas are advised to plan their journeys in advance and use alternate routes between 11:00 AM and 5:00 PM to avoid delays.

RESTRICTIONS AND DIVERSIONS

1. Annual Jal Yatra (01:00 PM - 05:00 PM)

Route: Maharaja Aggarsen Marg -> Filmistan Cinema -> Model Basti -> R/A Eidgah -> East Park Road -> Chhaper Wala Chowk -> Faiz Road -> Khadda Chowk -> R/A Eidgah -> Filmistan Cinema -> Jain Temple

2. 84th Annual Jain Rath Yatra (11:00 AM - 03:00 PM)

Route: 6 Tooti Chowk -> Basant Road -> Paanchkuia Road -> Nehru Bazar -> Ramdwara Road -> 6 Tooti Chowk

Traffic will be regulated and diverted from adjoining roads as required, except for emergency vehicles.

SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS TO THE PUBLIC

1. Commuters are requested to avoid the above routes during procession timings.

2. Avoid roadside parking to prevent obstruction of traffic flow.

3. Follow the directions of traffic police personnel deployed at key points.

4. Prefer public transport whenever possible to minimize congestion.

EMERGENCY VEHICLES

Delhi Police, ambulances, fire brigade, and other emergency service vehicles will have unhindered access on all routes. We regret the inconvenience caused and seek the cooperation of the public to ensure smooth traffic management and a safe travel experience for all.
