Delhi Traffic Updates: The Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) has commenced the cleaning work of the Master Plan Road ahead of the monsoon. The authority stated that the maintenance work is being carried out to provide convenience to the residents of the national capital. It further stated that one route of the road will remain closed for the next ten days due to the ongoing works. The Delhi police on Monday closed the road by placing barricades. It further advised the residents to follow the guidelines to avoid any inconveniences.
While providing details, the traffic police stated that the road from Geeta Colony to Kadakdi Mor will remain closed for the next ten days, adding that the route has been diverted for the commuters using the road. The advisory stated that the commuters can go to Kadakdi Mor via Vikas Marg. The MCD stated that the drain belongs to the PWD, and it cleans the drain once a year using machines ahead of the monsoon. It added that the corporation is cleaning the drain using machines, adding that the waste is transported to the landfill site via vehicles.

The authority stated that the water from small drains in Khureji, Geeta Colony, Priyadarshini Vihar, Jagatpuri, and Chitra Vihar areas falls into the drain. It added that the yearly cleaning work is done to avoid the waterlogging in the area to avoid inconveniences to the residents. The Delhi residents have been experiencing light to heavy rainfall in the last few days. The fresh spell of rains has reduced the temperature by two to four degrees Celsius, providing major relief from the scorching heat.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Sunday stated that the national capital is likely to receive rainfall till May 9, adding that the temperature is likely to increase after May 10.
