Delhi Water Cut On May 31: To address the persistent issue of waterlogging in parts of Delhi, extensive drain cleaning and obstruction removal work is underway across the city. One key bottleneck has been identified near ITO, where a 900 mm Kilokari pipeline intersects Drain Number 12 near Hans Bhawan, restricting water flow and causing flooding during rains.

To resolve this, the pipeline is being raised, requiring a temporary shutdown of water supply for 24 hours- from 5 PM on Saturday to 5 PM on Sunday.

Delhi Water Cut: Affected Areas

- Majnu ka Tila and surrounding localities

- Rajghat

- Vidhan Sabha

- New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) area

- Hans Bhawan

- CGO Complex

- Nizamuddin

- Defence Colony

- South Extension and adjacent neighborhoods

Residents in these areas are advised to make necessary arrangements in advance.

In addition to ongoing drainage improvement efforts, the Delhi Jal Board is undertaking the connection of a new 1000 mm diametre Mehrauli main pipeline at four locations. This essential upgrade will impact the water supply in several South Delhi localities connected to the Qutub Underground Reservoir in Sarvapriya Vihar.

As a result, water supply will remain disrupted from Saturday evening to Sunday morning in the following areas:

- Mehrauli

- Begumpur

- Kalu Sarai

- Sarvodaya Enclave

- Vijay Mandal DDA Flats

- Azad Apartments

- Adhchini & Adhchini DDA Flats

- Katwaria Sarai Village

- Qutub Institutional Area

The Delhi Jal Board has advised residents in these areas to use water judiciously during this period. Water tankers can be requested as needed.
