Earlier this week, Delhi Minister Atishi, who took over as in charge of the Water Department a few months ago in place of Minister Saurabh Bharadwaj, issued a warning that the national capital may soon witness a severe shortage of water. She added that due to this, there is a "danger of epidemic."
She also alleged that all the funds of the Jal Board were stopped by finance secretary Ashish Verma in August, at the request of the chief secretary.
“Funds are not being released even after the written order of the finance minister. There’s no money even for salary and routine work,” she said, as quoted by news agency PTI.
