Delhi Weather: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast a partly cloudy sky accompanied by strong winds (20 to 40 km per hour) for Thursday and Friday in Delhi. For the coming days, the weather body expects similar conditions, with western winds and intermittent cloud cover. On Wednesday, the city saw a mix of sun and clouds throughout the day with the afternoon heat making it feel quite warm. Humidity was recorded in the morning and evening hours. On Thursday, the maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be 35 and 15 degrees Celsius, respectively.
On Wednesday, the maximum and minimum temperatures were above normal. The maximum temperature was recorded at 34.4 degrees Celsius, which was 0.9 degrees Celsius above normal. While the minimum temperature settled at 25.9 degrees Celsius, which was 0.3 degrees Celsius above normal.
Monsoon To Retreat Soon
According to Skymet Weather, one of the first signs of the monsoon retreating is the clearing of clouds and the end of rain. The monsoon is likely to withdraw from Delhi around its usual date of September 25. Last year the monsoon lingered a bit longer, retreating in the first week of October.
North India Weather Update
The IMD on Wednesday had forecast stable conditions for Delhi-NCR, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and Jharkhand for the next few days of September. The weather body also warned of heavy to very heavy rain in Northeast India, East and Central India, North-Western hilly states, and the Southern Peninsular region over the next five days, till September 15.
As per IMD, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura are forecast to witness heavy to very heavy rain between September 12 and 15.
Eastern Uttar Pradesh will see rain on September 11, 12, and 15, while western part will witness showers on September 12. Rain will lash Jammu and Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh from September 13.
