Delhi Weather: Delhi continues to reel under an intense heatwave, with conditions turning miserable for residents as temperatures soared across the city. On Monday an Orange Alert was imposed as most areas recorded daytime temperatures exceeding 43–44 degrees Celsius, making it the hottest day of the season so far.

Ayanagar was the hottest location, registering a searing 45.3 degrees Celsius, along with a heatwave. The overall maximum temperature in Delhi reached 43.4 degrees Celsius, which is 3.4 degrees above normal, while the heat index- factoring in humidity- touched a punishing 48.9 degrees Celsius, making it feel like nearly 49 degrees Celsius.

The minimum temperature was comparatively moderate at 27.6 degrees Celsius, while humidity levels fluctuated between 70% and 25%, adding to the discomfort.

Throughout the day, hot winds blowing at 20–30 km/h made outdoor activity extremely challenging. Commuters, especially two-wheeler riders waiting at traffic signals, bore the brunt of the blistering sun, which grew harsher as the day progressed.

According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the weather is expected to remain largely unchanged over the next three days. Tuesday is likely to see clear skies, continued heatwave conditions, and dust-laden winds blowing at 20–30 km/h. Temperatures may reach a maximum of 44 degrees Celsius, with a minimum of around 29 degrees Celsius.

Authorities advise the public to take precautions, avoid direct sun exposure, and stay hydrated as the intense heat continues to grip the capital.
