Delhi Weather Update: After a dust storm and intermittent rainfall brought the temperature down in Delhi, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a fresh heatwave alert in the national capital for the upcoming few days.
As per the weather department, the heatwave conditions will start again from Wednesday and will last for three days. During this period, the temperature is expected to reach 42 degrees.
On Monday, the sky remained clear in Delhi. The minimum temperature was recorded 0.6 degrees above normal at 21.6 degrees Celsius, while the maximum temperature was recorded 1.7 degrees above normal at 37.8 degrees Celsius. The humidity level in the air was 81 percent. The highest maximum temperature of 37.8 degrees was recorded in Ayanagar, and the highest minimum temperature of 23.7 degrees was recorded in Najafgarh.
Yellow alert issued for three days
For Tuesday, the weather department has forecast clear skies over the national capital. Moreover, the winds will gust at a speed of 20 to 30 km per hour. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to remain up to 38 and 23 degrees Celsius, respectively.

At some places, the temperature can be recorded around 39 to 40 degrees. A yellow alert for the heatwave has already been issued for three days from Wednesday to Friday.
Meanwhile, amidst seasonal fluctuations, Delhi's air quality continues to improve. According to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), on Monday, the capital's AQI was recorded at 198, i.e., in the medium category. A day before (Sunday), it was 178.
On the other hand, the Faridabad CPCB system has continued to malfunction for the last 10 days. Given that, the AQI of Faridabad remained unavailable. Due to the technical fault, no other information about the pollution was available.
