Delhi NCR is expected to witness heavy rain on Saturday and Sunday, with dense fog likely in early morning hours, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said. The rain, accompanied by chilly winds, is likely to worsen the ongoing cold wave. The Regional Meteorological Centre (Delhi) stated that night temperatures are expected to dip further, intensifying the cold wave in the region.
According to the Regional Meteorological Centre (Delhi), the maximum temperature in Delhi is expected to be 20 degrees Celsius, while the minimum will likely drop to 6 degrees Celsius. Noida may see a maximum of 18 degrees Celsius and a minimum of 8 degrees Celsius.
Ghaziabad's temperature is forecast to range between 20 degrees Celsius and 5 degrees Celsius, while Gurugram is likely to experience a maximum of 19 degrees Celsius and a minimum of 8 degrees Celsius.

Delhi's air quality continues to deteriorate, with the Air Quality Index (AQI) reaching 397 in the "very poor" category on Friday, according to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB). Out of 29 monitoring stations, 18, including Ashok Vihar, Bawana and Jahangirpuri, recorded AQI levels in the "severe" category, exceeding 400.
Meanwhile, the IMD has predicted rain and thunderstorms in Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan on January 11, extending to Uttarakhand on January 12. Rajasthan's Meteorological Centre in Jaipur forecasts light to moderate rain with hailstorms in parts of Bikaner, Jaipur and Bharatpur divisions. Karauli, Rajasthan, recorded the lowest minimum temperature of 3.3 degrees Celsius on Friday.
