Delhi Weather Today: Light rain and drizzle were observed across Delhi-NCR on Monday morning, likely intensifying the winter chill. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicts a drop in maximum temperatures by 3-4 degrees Celsius and minimum temperatures by 1-2 degrees Celsius starting Tuesday. Monday’s maximum temperature is expected to hover around 20 degrees Celsius, while the minimum could settle at 7 degrees Celsius.
The IMD issued a yellow alert for the next two days, warning of moderate fog across most areas and dense fog in some parts. Visibility could range from 200-500 meters during moderate fog and 50-200 meters in dense fog.

Delhi Air Quality Today
Delhi's air quality remained in the 'severe' category on Monday morning, following the plunge on Sunday, with the Air Quality Index (AQI) reaching 410. This marked a deterioration after a brief improvement to the 'very poor' category earlier in the day. The return to severe pollution levels is attributed to lower temperatures and stagnant wind speeds, which have hindered pollutant dispersal.
The first half of December offered temporary relief, with six days of 'moderate' air quality following a heavily polluted November. However, since December 16, the city’s air quality has consistently oscillated between 'very poor' and 'severe.' Sunday’s AQI reading marked a grim continuation of this trend.

Delhi remains under Stage IV of the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP), enforcing the strictest anti-pollution measures. These include a ban on construction activities and restrictions on non-essential polluting trucks entering Delhi. GRAP classifies air quality into four stages, with Stage IV indicating an AQI above 450.
