Delhi-NCR Rain: As the water level in the Yamuna crossed the danger mark again in the national capital, Delhi experienced light rainfall on Sunday evening. The rainfall has certainly given respite to the citizens from extreme heat and humid conditions, but there is also danger due to the already overflowing Yamuna river.

Besides Delhi, Noida also received slight rainfall. Delhi's Yamuna river on Sunday crossed the danger mark once again following a surge in discharge from the Hathnikund Barrage into the river, increasing chances of another spell of floods in the capital.
The water level of the Yamuna River in the National Capital was recorded at 206.31 metres till 4 pm, crossing the danger mark.
Meanwhile, announcements are being made by the administration to vacate low-lying areas.
Earlier in the morning, the water level of the Yamuna River in the National Capital was recorded at 205.81 metres, marginally above the danger mark.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Sunday spoke to Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel and enquired about the flood-like situation occurring in various parts of the state due to recent heavy rainfall.
The Home Minister also spoke to Delhi Lieutenant Governor Vinai Kumar Saxena and discussed with him the water level in the Yamuna River in the national capital.
