Delhi-Patna Vande Bharat Sleeper Train: This December marks a major milestone for travelers on the Patna-Delhi route, as Indian Railways is set to launch the country’s first Vande Bharat sleeper train from Bihar. Combining the comfort of the Rajdhani with the cutting-edge engineering of the Vande Bharat, this long-awaited train promises to redefine overnight travel. For passengers, it’s more than just a new service but it’s a transformative upgrade to the entire journey experience.
High Speed, Jerk-Free Ride
The hallmark of this high-tech train is its speed. The train's body, suspension, and braking systems are advanced enough to maintain balance at high speeds. If necessary, the train can stop within a very short distance and then quickly pick up speed.
This new sleeper variant will come with 16 coaches
-11 AC 3 coaches (611 seats)
-4 AC 2 coaches (188 seats)
-1 AC 1 coach (24 seats)
It will have a total capacity of 827 passengers. The design is designed to provide a premium travel experience for all classes. According to railway sources, quoted by jagran.com, fares are expected to be similar to that of Rajdhani Express trains. The railway may increase the number of coaches if demand increases.
The first rake has been completed at the BEML factory in Bengaluru. It is scheduled to be shipped on December 12. Trial runs will then begin on the Delhi-Patna route, and it is planned to be operational before the New Year.
