Dharmendra Death: Legendary actor Dharmendra Deol passed away on Monday at the age of 89 in his Mumbai house, sending a shockwave among the fans. The veteran actor was dealing with breath-related diseases and took his last breath 12 days after being released from Breach Candy Hospital. Known for his unforgettable roles in several movies, including Sholay, Chupke Chupke, Satyakam, and Phool Aur Pathhar, he enjoyed tremendous fame at his peak. Several prominent politicians, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, and Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, expressed their grief on his demise.
They asserted that Dharmendra's contribution to the Indian cinema will never be forgotten, adding that his works will continue to inspire future generations. While remembering Dharmendra as a "phenomenal" actor, Prime Minister Narendra Modi stated that the veteran actor had an impact on countless people. "The passing of Dharmendra Ji marks the end of an era in Indian cinema. He was an iconic film personality, a phenomenal actor who brought charm and depth to every role he played," PM Modi stated in his post on X (formerly Twitter).

In this sad hour, my thoughts are with his family, friends and innumerable fans. Om Shanti," he added. Home Minister Amit Shah also paid his condolences by stating that Dharmendra's demise is "irreplaceable" loss for the cinema.
"The demise of Dharmendra ji, who touched the hearts of every citizen for six decades with his finest acting, is an irreparable loss for the Indian film world. Coming from an ordinary family, he created his indelible identity in the film industry. Dharmendra ji was one of those select actors whose every character he touched came alive, and through this very art, he won the hearts of millions of viewers across all age groups," the home minister stated in his post.
Apart from this, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge stated that Dharmendra's death "marks the end of an era". "The Indian film world has lost a precious star today. The renowned actor Dharmendra is no longer with us. Honored with the Padma Bhushan in 2012, Dharmendra reigned over the hearts of cinema lovers for decades and left a deep impression with his unparalleled acting and simple life," Kharge said in its post.
