Special Trains: In the wake of Diwali and Chhath Puja, the railway has increased the number of trains and their trips. 44 trains will operate from the North Central Railway Prayagraj zone, and 100 trains will pass through it. This month, trains will make 374 trips, and in November, they will make 276 trips.

Railways Adding Coaches In Trains

To facilitate passengers, sleeper and general coaches are being added to the trains. Currently, around a dozen trains to Bengaluru Rajdhani, Mumbai Rajdhani, and Bihar have no room available, and three dozen trains have a waiting list of over 200. The maximum crowding is generally found in general coaches, sleeper class, and AC third-tier coaches.

Despite operating new trains, increasing train trips, and adding coaches, the railways are still struggling to manage the massive crowd of passengers. The situation is so dire that passengers are forced to stand near the doors of general coaches. The railway is conducting regular inspections at stations and on trains.

Waiting Continue To Grow Despite Additional Trains

More than a dozen trains have no reserved seats available, and over three dozen trains have a waiting list of over 200 passengers. Station Director, Prashasti Srivastava, stated that to facilitate passengers, the number of ticket counters at Agra Cantonment and Mathura stations is being increased to avoid any inconvenience.

Meanwhile, a special cleanliness drive is being carried out on station platforms. Trains like the Howrah-Jodhpur Express, Jodhpur-Howrah Express, Kota-Patna Express, Bikaner-Howrah Express, Chhattisgarh Express, Agra Cantonment-Ahmedabad Express, Agra Cantonment-Kolkata Express, Karnataka Express, Hoshiarpur Express, Amritsar Express, Sridham Express, AP Express, and Dakshin Express are among the most crowded.
