Amid an ongoing power tussle in Karnataka, Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar said that one should not let go of the opportunity to sit on a chair once provided. The remarks from the Congress leader came after Chief Minister Siddaramaiah stated that there was no vacancy for the CM post, adding that he will complete the full tenure. Apart from this, Shivakumar had also stated that it was not right to speak on the matter after it had already been addressed by the chief minister.

While speaking at the Kempegowda Jayanti celebrations on Friday, Shivakumar stated that while being sacrificial by nature is good, one should not let go of opportunities. "I see many lawyers here who are not sitting despite the availability of vacant chairs, while we are all scrambling to find one. Getting a chair is not easy. When you get the opportunity, you must sit and not let go of the chance," the deputy chief minister stated.

"It seems many of you are very sacrificial by nature. Such a good building has been made with great chairs, make use of the opportunities when you get them," he added. Earlier, while responding to reporters questions on the power tussle reports, Shivakumar stated that the chief minister had already addressed the issue, adding that any comment was unnecessary at the moment.

"The answer has already been given (by CM Siddaramaiah and Karnataka in-charge Randeep Surjewala). When an answer has been provided, it's not good to speak again and again, and asking the same thing again and again is also not right. You don't want to make any comment now, and it's unnecessary." Shivakumar was quoted as saying by ANI.
