Durgapur-Mumbai Indigo Flight: A Durgapur-Mumbai Indigo flight made an emergency landing in Raipur after a cancer patient died in the air on Thursday. the patient from Burdwan, West Bengal, was travelling to Mumbai for treatment on the Indigo flight on Thursday night. He fell unconscious from his seat, prompting an emergency landing at Raipur airport at midnight.
The youth, who fainted on the flight, was taken to a local hospital, but was declared brought-dead the hospital. According to information received from the airport, Gautam Bauri, a resident of Burdwan was on board the Indigo flight from Durgapur to Mumbai. He was suffering from blood cancer. He was on his way to Tata Memorial Hospital in Mumbai for treatment when he collapsed.

Emergency Landing In Raipur
The pilot requested permission from air traffic control for an emergency landing. Upon receiving permission, the flight landed hurriedly at Raipur Airport that night. He was examined at Raipur Airport and then taken to the government hospital in Mana, where he was declared dead.
Nagpur-Ahmedabad IndiGo Flight Returns To Airport Soon After Take-Off
In another development, a Nagpur-Ahmedabad IndiGo flight returned soon after taking off from the airport in Nagpur on Tuesday morning with the airline stating that the pilots took the decision as a precaution after noticing a technical issue.
"A technical issue was detected on IndiGo flight 6E-7246 operating from Nagpur to Ahmedabad on 7 October, 2025. As a precautionary step, the pilots decided to turn back and the aircraft landed safely at Nagpur airport," the IndiGo spokesperson said in a statement in the evening. The aircraft was undergoing necessary checks and the flyers were accommodated in subsequent flights or given full refund upon cancellation, the statement added.
