Dwarka Expressway Toll Charges: Commuters using the Dwarka Expressway will no longer enjoy toll-free rides, as the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) has announced that toll collection will begin at Bijwasan Plaza starting next week.

The Dwarka Expressway has a large number of elevated sections, with nearly 22 km of its 30-km stretch consisting of flyovers and tunnels. To recover the high construction costs, toll charges are calculated using a formula that treats these structures as longer road lengths (about 150 km).

Toll Charges:

- One-way fare (car): Rs 220 (approx)

- Return journey: Rs 330 (approx)

- These charges will apply only to vehicles without a valid monthly pass or a FASTag annual pass.

One-Stop Toll Collection

- Two plazas, Bijwasan (Dwarka Expressway) and Kherki Daula (Delhi-Gurgaon Expressway), will operate under an integrated toll mechanism.

- Vehicles crossing Bijwasan toll plaza first will pay there and won’t be charged again at Kherki Daula in the same direction, Times Now reported.

- Vehicles entering via Kherki Daula will pay the initial toll there, and the remaining toll will be collected at Bijwasan.

- This system will ensure that commuters avoid double toll payments.

Monthly And FASTag Annual Pass Options For Commuters

- Monthly Local Pass: The pass is available to residents living within a 20 km radius of the toll plaza, and commuters must show proof of residence at the toll plaza each month to avail of the pass.

- FASTag Annual Pass: A FASTag annual pass can be purchased and renewed online and works on all national highway toll plazas.

How will it impact commuters?

- Regular commuters using personal vehicles with passes will experience little to no impact.

- However, cab and taxi fares are expected to increase as drivers are likely to pass the toll charges onto the passengers.

Kherki Toll Plaza Update:

The toll for cars has been increased from Rs 80 to Rs 95 as the revised fare now covers charges for the flyovers along the Delhi-Gurgaon Expressway.
