The Election Commission of India on Tuesday will announce the schedule for Delhi Assembly Election 2025 at 2:00 PM today. The press conference will be held at the Plenary Hall, Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi.

The Commission has extended an invitation to media professionals from across the nation to attend the press conference where they will be provided with important details about the election dates and various logistical aspects of the upcoming Delhi assembly elections.

During the 2020 Assembly Elections, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) secured a total of 62 out of 70 seats and the BJP won only eight. The campaigning for the upcoming polls is in full swing with parties not leaving any stones unturned.

Amid the poll preparations, the New Delhi District Election Officer has raised concerns over alleged pressure from Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leaders, including Raghav Chadha and Sanjay Singh, who have been frequently visiting the officer's office to ask for personal details of objectors.

This, the officer claims, is not mandated to be shared as per Election Commission of India (ECI) guidelines.

However, after a summary revision, this number has risen to 1,55,24,858, an addition of 1,67,329 new electorates by December 2024. The Commission has cautioned against the submission of false and fabricated documents for getting new voter ID.
