Eid Al-Fitr Moon Sighting Saudi Arabia 2024: The holy month of Ramzan 2024 is about to end with Muslims across the globe preparing to celebrate Eid Al-Fitr 2024 with full fervour and joy. Eid Al-Fitr is celebrated on the first day of Shawwal, the 10th month of the Lunar Hijri calendar. April 8th marks the 29th day of Ramzan in Saudi Arabia, where the month of fasting started on March 11. Saudi Arabia declares Eid Al Fitr for Wednesday, April 10, as religious committees confirm no sighting of the moon tonight. The first day of the tenth month, Shawwal, in the Islamic calendar aligns with April 10, marking end of Ramadan. Fasting will continue tomorrow, April 9, until Eid begins. In India, Eid Al-Fitr is expected to be celebrated on April 11.

The Shawwal crescent was not sighted in Saudi Arabia today. Eid Al-Fitr will be celebrated on Wednesday (April 10). Along with Saudi Arabia, several other countries including UAE, Oman, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain, Egypt, Turkey, Iran, the United Kingdom and the United States of America will also celebrate Eid Al-Fitr on Wednesday (April 10) as they historically follow the lunar sightings issued by Saudi Arabia, which means that this year Muslims will observe fasting for 30 days during Ramzan instead of 29 days.
