In the European country of Estonia, the influence of India’s yoga tradition is gaining strong popularity. Estonia’s Foreign Minister Margus Tsahkna, speaking with Dainik Jagran, said with a smile, “We are bringing yoga from India.” He added that yoga is not just about physical fitness, but also a powerful means of achieving mental peace.

Margus said that he does not get much time himself, but his wife has a deep interest in yoga and practices it regularly. People in Estonia are also increasingly interested in it. He further noted that both India and Estonia have very ancient civilisations.

Dainik Jagran, part of a group of Indian journalists visiting Estonia, also interacted with the local people, who seemed deeply concerned with their heritage. Regarding the cultural similarities between India and Estonia, the Foreign Minister stated that there is a commonality of values.

We are rapidly advancing in the IT and digital sectors. We are also promoting cultural exchanges between our two countries, educational programs, and student dialogues to help them understand each other.

So, several Indian events have been held in Estonia. We look forward to similar events in India. We need to connect as much as possible.

People connect countries

Governments may discuss defence cooperation or other topics, but ultimately, it is people and culture that connect countries. There are many Indian students here, and this relationship will continue.

There are possibilities for cooperation in cybersecurity, agricultural products, woodworking, and other areas. Digital platforms are essential for preserving our heritage and connecting people.

India is a rich and ancient nation with a rich cultural and cultural heritage. There is a huge opportunity for cooperation.

"Just as we Estonians are emotionally attached to our culture, we see the same thing in India, which is a very large country. A special aspect of our culture is the singing tradition, which is centuries old," says Marco Weller, CEO of a large wood house.

India's Ambassador to Estonia, Ashish Sinha, says that while the country may be small in size and population, it is very advanced in the digital and IT sectors. A small part of India's business presence could be beneficial to Estonia.

Similarly, through Estonia, Indian trade can access markets in Scandinavia, the Baltics, and throughout Eastern and Western Europe, as Estonia is part of the European Union. Opportunities will emerge once work begins on the free trade agreement that has been agreed upon.

These will include areas like digital, cybersecurity, AI, food, and agriculture. There's a Bharatanatyam academy here, which is about to celebrate its 40th anniversary. There's the Amrita Dance Academy, which we collaborate with through the Ministry of Culture, Government of India. There are also yoga studios. Like us, this country is also as heritage-conscious as we are.
