In a shocking incident, a property dealer was killed in a collision with a Thar registered to ACP Rajesh Kumar Lohan in Faridabad on Sunday night near Sector-12 Town Park. The case gained attention when it was revealed that the Thar was driven by the ACP’s driver. The property dealer, Manoj Kumar, had attempted to stop the driver, escalating the sensitivity of the incident. The vehicle is registered in the name of ACP Sarai, Rajesh Kumar Lohan.
The victim, identified as Manoj Kumar, worked as a property dealer. He and his brother, Vicky Kumar, a resident of Street No. 9, Nangla Enclave Part 2, were involved in this incident.
On Sunday, Manoj, along with his friends Anil Rana, Pravesh, Rahul, Aman, Shivam, and Navdeep, traveled to Vrindavan. They returned to Pravesh's office in Sector 9 around 1 a.m. From there, two of the friends, Mandeep and Aman, went to Dharma Dhaba in Sector 12 to get food. Near the Sector 12 junction, they encountered a young man driving a Thar recklessly. When Mandeep tried to stop him, an argument erupted between them and the four young men in the Thar. The dispute quickly escalated, prompting Mandeep and Aman to leave on their bikes and head back to Pravesh's office. As they were leaving, the Thar came up from behind and tried to hit their bike before speeding away.

Meanwhile, Manoj and the rest of the group, delayed by the wait for food, also went to Dharma Dhaba in Sector 12. There, Mandeep recounted the incident with the Thar driver to Manoj. Determined to confront the driver, Manoj and his friends went searching for the Thar near Ozone Park, opposite Town Park, where they found the driver performing stunts. When Manoj tried to stop the Thar, the driver ran over him. His friends, who were standing nearby, immediately rushed him to Metro Hospital in Sector 16.
Upon arrival, doctors pronounced Manoj dead. Manoj's sister, Poonam Jain, and his brother, Vicky, have stated that they believe Manoj was murdered. They are demanding a CBI investigation, believing it is the only way to get justice for their brother.
According to jagran.com, ACP Lohan stated that his driver was operating the Thar. However, the deceased’s family alleges that either the ACP’s son or another family member was driving, and the police are attempting to protect that individual by claiming it was the driver. A key question remains: if the Thar was driven by the ACP’s driver, why has the driver’s name not been disclosed? Typically, in the police department, drivers are police personnel. The incident occurred about 300 meters from the Central Police Station, but there were no CCTV cameras at the scene.
The family also alleges that the Thar driver intentionally hit Manoj. On Monday, the family protested for about two hours outside the Central Police Station and later at the mortuary of Badshah Khan Hospital, demanding that the case be registered under murder charges. Under pressure, the police registered the case under the relevant murder section.

Manoj’s sister, Poonam Jain, and brother, Vicky, stated that their brother was murdered and demanded a CBI investigation for justice.
The Central Police Station in-charge confirmed that a notice has been sent to ACP Lohan, seeking clarification on who was driving the Thar at the time of the incident. The investigation will proceed once the driver’s name is revealed.
In an exclusive interview to Jagran.com, ACP Rajesh Lohan clarified that the Thar is registered in his name and was being driven by his driver, though he declined to disclose the driver’s name. When asked about the victim’s family’s allegations that his son was driving, he firmly replied, “No. Who said that? The allegations are completely false. I’m telling you, the car was driven by my driver. I’m distressed right now, but I’m ready to cooperate fully with the police investigation.”
