Mumbai Rains Today: IMD Puts City On Yellow Alert For Heavy Downpour, Thunderstorms; Local Trains Face Delays

Rains In Mumbai: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for Mumbai and surrounding areas, forecasting heavy rains and thunderstorms accompanied by lightning moving into the week. Mumbai witnessed heavy downpour on Monday affecting public movement. The weather conditions will prevail in the coming days with heavy rain also likely on September 26.

Santacruz observatory registered 3 mm of rainfall, while Colaba observatory along the coast registered 20 mm over the last 24 hours ending 8:30 am on Monday.

Mumbai Local Train Impacted

As a result of heavy rains, minor delays were reported on Monday with train services on the Central and Harbour lines being delayed by 10-15 minutes, as per a TimesNow report. If heavy showers continue to batter the city, commuters can experience crowded platforms.
