Faridabad News: Three members of a family died in Faridabad's Green Field Colony due to suffocation after an Air Conditioner caught fire in the same building. A husband, wife and their daughter died in an attempt to escape, while their son got injured and is being treated in a hospital. The fire reportedly broke out due to a short circuit on the first floor and the family got stuck on the second floor due to thick smoke. The fire brigade team and police arrived at the spot after being informed by the locals. The officials took every family members to a nearby hospital; however, three of them were declared dead by the doctor.

The locals informed that Sachin Kapoor, along with his wife and children lived on the second floor. They further stated that another family lived on the first floor who successfully escaped. The reports suggest that the AC caught fire at around 2.45 am, adding that the family residing on the first floor came out of the building.

However, Sachin's family had no idea about the fire for at least 15 minutes as they were sleeping on the second floor. Kapoor along with the other family members ran towards the roof to save life after the smoke filled their room; however, they got stuck because the staircase gate was closed.

In a separate news on Sunday, a married woman was suffocated to death by her in-laws on Friday night in the Saini police station jurisdiction of Kausambi district. According to the complaint of the victim’s mother, the in-laws had been harassing her over dowry issues, and her brother-in-law allegedly engaged in obscene behaviour and pressured her into an illicit relationship. She was allegedly killed by suffocation with a pillow.
