Faridabad-Noida-Ghaziabad Expressway: The long-stalled Faridabad-Noida-Ghaziabad (FNG) expressway project may soon see progress as the Noida Authority and Public Works Department (PWD) prepare for another meeting to resolve pending issues. The expressway, first proposed over a decade ago, has remained incomplete for 13 years, causing delays in intercity connectivity.
The FNG expressway spans 56 kilometres in total, out of which 23 kilometres fall under Noida’s jurisdiction, with the remaining stretch located in Faridabad and Ghaziabad. In recent discussions, both the Noida Authority and PWD have shown willingness to revisit and revise the implementation strategy.
Faridabad-Noida-Ghaziabad Expressway New DPR
The new Detailed Project Report (DPR) includes three proposed alignments for the unfinished segment. PWD officials confirmed that the survey for these alignments is complete and the final route will be selected after approval from the department’s headquarters.
Six-Lane Bridge Across Yamuna River To Link Noida With Faridabad
A major highlight of the renewed plan is the construction of a six-lane bridge across the Yamuna river to link Noida with Faridabad. This 600-metre-long bridge will be built between Sector 168 and 167A. The estimated cost of this structure is around Rs 200 crore, with expenses to be shared equally by the governments of Haryana and Uttar Pradesh.
Noida: Elevated Road and 2 Underpasses For FNG Route
Additional infrastructure within Noida includes one elevated road and two underpasses for the FNG route. A 3.68 km underpass, costing Rs 30.29 crore, and a 650-metre elevated road, estimated at Rs 633 crore, are also part of the project. The approach road to these structures is planned to be 75 metres wide.
Noida Ghaziabad, Faridabad And Gurugram Expressway
Once completed, the FNG expressway will offer smoother travel between Noida, Ghaziabad, Faridabad and even Gurugram. Travellers will no longer need to pass through Delhi, reducing congestion on major routes such as Kalindi Kunj and the Noida Master Plan roads.
Project To Benefit 30 Sectors
The project is expected to benefit more than 30 sectors and over 1,000 industries. Patch roads are also being developed to link all bridges and underpasses, providing better connectivity to Greater Noida West and Greater Faridabad.
Officials are hopeful that this long-awaited project will finally move forward, easing traffic woes across NCR.
