Bengaluru News: A video has gone viral on the social media platforms in which the commuters can be seen jumping over the token entry gate at one of Bengaluru's metro stations. The video was reportedly recorded on June 4, the same day 11 people died and several got injured due to a stampede outside the Chinnaswamy stadium during victory celebrations of the IPL team Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB). The Bengaluru Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) stated that the video was recorded at the Majestic interchange metro station.
The video went viral on several social media platforms, including Instagram, where the video got more than a million views and 25,000 likes. The reports suggest that the fans started jumping over the token entry gates without any tickets due to a massive crowd that entered inside the station after the stampede.

The reports also suggest that more than a thousand commuters used the services without any ticket, leading to a reaction from netizens, reported India TV. While several netizens slammed the commuters by emphasising that they lacked civic sense, others pointed out that the authorities should have been prepared to handle the large crowd.

"I'm seeing this nowadays. People getting inspired for doing all the wrong things," one of the social media users stated. "Shame on everyone who travelled without ticket," the other one said.
"I am from Karnataka and I feel so sorry after seeing people lacking civic sense. Where are we heading towards as a youths of this country or state. People do not want to pay 20-40rs metro fare, jumping and damaging the station. This is the main reason why our country or state is still developing not developed. People seen jumping in these footage must be punished," the third user commented.
