Faridabad Terror Plot:In a major plot twist, the Jammu and Kashmir Police has found an interstate and transnational terror module of Jaish-e-Mohamamd and Ansar Ghazwat-ul-Hind outfits by arresting seven persons, including two doctors, and recovering arms and ammunition, officials said here on Monday. The operation was carried out jointly by Faridabad and Jammu and Kashmir Police and 2,900 kg of IED-making material was recovered besides other arms and ammunition.

"In a major counter-terrorism success, J-K Police has busted an inter-state and transnational terror module, linked with proscribed terrorist organisations JeM and AGuH. The operation has led to the arrest of key operatives and recovery of a massive cache of arms, ammunition and explosives, during coordinated searches in J-K and other states," a police spokesman told News agency PTI.

During the course of investigation, the seven accused were arrested.

JKP has intensified the probe as another medical professional has emerged as a key suspect in the terror network. The investigation uncovered a massive cache over 300 kilograms of RDX, assault rifles, and large quantities of ammunition from Haryana’s Faridabad. These recoveries came after crucial revelations made by a Kashmiri doctor previously arrested for terror-related activities.

A search operation is currently underway in Fatehpur Taga, Faridabad, by the Haryana and J&K Police. The location is about 4 km from where the arrested Kashmiri doctor, Muzammil, used to offer namaz.

This development follows the recent arrest of a doctor employed at a private hospital, who was handed over to JKP for allegedly putting up posters in support of the banned terror organisation Jaish-e-Mohammed in Srinagar, an official said on November 7.

As the Jammu and Kashmir Police recovered IED-making material and ammunition from Haryana's Faridabad on Monday, Commissioner of Police Satender Kumar Gupta detailed the joint operation involving the J&K Police and Haryana Police.

"It is an ongoing joint operation between Haryana police and J&K police. An accused, Dr Muzammil, was nabbed. 360 kg of inflammable material was recovered yesterday, which is possibly ammonium nitrate. It is not RDX... The operation is still underway," he said.

Furthermore, he elaborated on the recovered arms and ammunition, including pistols, live cartridges, timers, batteries, walkie-talkie sets, heavy metal, and more.

Who Is Adil Ahmad Rather, J&K Doctor Accused of Terror Links?

Adil Ahmad Rather, a resident of Qazigund in South Kashmir, had been working as a senior resident at the Government Medical College (GMC), Anantnag, until October 2024.

On October 27, posters supporting Jaish-e-Mohammed surfaced in Srinagar. During the inquiry, police examined CCTV footage that allegedly showed Adil putting up the posters. Nine days later, on November 6, he was arrested from a private hospital on Ambala Road in Saharanpur, Uttar Pradesh.

Earlier this week, a raid at GMC Anantnag led police to recover an AK-47 rifle and ammunition from Adil’s locker. He was charged under the Arms Act and the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA). His interrogation then led investigators to a larger discovery, a stockpile of explosives and arms in Faridabad, which Adil reportedly stored with another doctor, identified as Muzammil Shakeel, who has also been taken into custody.

Muzammil, a resident of Pulwama, is the second doctor linked to the terror activity.
