Faridabad Terror Plot: During an operation in Faridabad’s Fatehpur Taga, Jammu and Kashmir and Faridabad Police recovered 2,563 kg of explosives packed in 50 sacks from the home of an imam, a close associate of terrorist Muzammil Shakeel. Shakeel is a doctor from Jammu and Kashmir's Pulwama, and a key link in the interstate and transnational terror module of Jaish-e-Mohamamd and Ansar Ghazwat-ul-Hind outfits.
The police teams have been raiding the house belonging to Irfan, the mosque's imam, since Monday morning.
The huge recovery comes a day after 350 kg of explosives and several arms and ammunition were recovered from a rented accommodation on Sunday in Faridabad. According to the initial police probe, the recovered substance is likely ammonium nitrate.
Both the accommodations were rented by Shakeel.
Additionally, the police have arrested a woman doctor working at the Al-Falah Medical College and Hospital after an assault rifle and a pistol were recovered from her car. The woman doctor was traced after Shakeel’s interrogation.
Shakeel also worked at Al-Falah Medical College and Hospital. He was arrested 10 days ago after evidence linking him to Jaish-e-Mohammed emerged.
Earlier, a Kashmiri doctor from Uttar Pradesh's Saharanpur, Dr Adil Ahmad Rather was arrested for allegedly sticking posters in support of Jaish-e-Mohammed (a terror outfit) in Srinagar.
