The Fast Immigration Service, following its successful implementation at Delhi Airport, has now been introduced at seven additional airports across India. These airports include Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Kochi and Ahmedabad. The initiative, known as the 'Fast Track Immigration-Trusted Traveller Programme' (FTI-TTP), aims to provide travellers with enhanced immigration facilities, ensuring a smoother and more secure international travel experience.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah officially launched the programme at the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport in Ahmedabad. The FTI-TTP was first introduced at Indira Gandhi International Airport in June of last year. The government plans to roll out the programme at a total of 21 key airports in its first phase.

Currently, the FTI-TTP is available free of charge for Indian citizens and Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) cardholders. The programme can be accessed via the online portal at ftittp.mha.gov.in. To enrol, applicants must complete an online registration process, providing their details and uploading the necessary documents.

How To Enrol
Once registered, biometric data for applicants will be collected either at the Foreigners Regional Registration Office (FRRO) or at the airport. Travellers will then need to scan their airline-issued boarding passes at the e-gate, followed by a scan of their passports. At both arrival and departure points, the e-gates will authenticate the passenger's biometrics. Upon successful verification, the e-gate will open automatically, allowing for seamless immigration clearance.
The FTI registration is valid for a maximum of five years or until the associated passport expires, whichever occurs first. Applicants are advised to ensure their passport has a minimum validity of six months when applying for the FTI-TTP, as the programme membership will be co-terminus with the passport's validity.
