To accommodate the increasing passenger rush during the festival season, a sufficient number of Puja Special trains are being operated on the Northeast Railway route, with 175 special trains announced so far.

However, passengers appear to be more inclined towards regular trains, which are now so crowded that there is barely any standing room left. In contrast, despite the holiday rush, special trains are running with many vacant seats. According to Pankaj Kumar Singh, Chief Public Relations Officer of Northeast Railway, cited by Jagran.com, there is ample availability of seats and berths on the Puja Special trains, providing a smoother travel option for passengers. As of the evening of October 30, dozens of these special trains still have plenty of available seats and berths for booking.
