Lookout circulars have been issued against four top officials of coaching centre FIITJEE on Sunday as a part of an ongoing probe into alleged financial irregularities. The reports suggest that the LOC was issued as a precautionary measure, as there are a large number of complainants and the probe is still ongoing. The officials stated that the step was taken because the agency was taking time to gather documents related to the case.

The officials stated that the LOCs confirm that the individuals cannot leave the country without consulting the agency, adding that the officials have already interrogated one of the promoters in the case. However, he was later released, reported the Times of India. The agency is also investigating the 48 bank accounts linked with the institution.

"We are in the process of collecting bank account details. Once we have the information, we will assess the roles of the individuals involved. This will help us confront them with evidence," an officer was quoted as saying by TOI. "Multiple complaints were received against the FIITJEE coaching institute at its east Delhi centre in Laxmi Nagar. A detailed inquiry revealed 192 complaints from individual students and parents' groups," police stated in a statement.

"Despite collecting substantial course fees, the institute failed to deliver the promised services, ultimately shutting down operations abruptly mid-Jan, 2025, without notice," the statement further read. However, the coaching institute, in a statement, said that the situation is temporary and firm officials are working to restart operations.

"FIITJEE has not closed any centre as part of its own decision. Overnight desertion of the centre by the centre managing partner along with the entire team is the only reason for this force majeure type of condition. The present turmoil in the institution is temporary. Company officials are working to resume operations at all places within a reasonable time," the coaching institute stated.
