Faridabad Terror Plot: Two major terror attacks were averted across India after Jammu and Kashmir Police and Gujarat Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) busted inter-state and transnational terror modules over the past two days. The Gujarat ATS arrested three terrorists linked to the ISIS in Hyderabad on Sunday while the J-K Police nabbed seven suspects linked to terror outfits Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) and Ansar Ghazwat-ul-Hind (AGuH) in Faridabad. The Jammu and Kashmir Police recovered 2,900 kilograms of ammonium nitrate from Faridabad, which is located at just an hour's distance from national capital Delhi.

The police arrested two doctors, who belonged to Jammu and Kashmir, and were awaiting information about their target from handlers. Large quantity of explosives, including ammonium nitrate as well as detonators and two assault rifles with some ammunition, were discovered. These substances can ignite and cause a massive explosion. The techniques are often used to make inexpensive bombs, known as ammonium nitrate fuel oil (ANFO). The agencies are on alert after the discovery of ammonium nitrate (NH₄NO₃).

The operation was carried out by Jammu and Kashmir Police in Faridabad, Haryana. The investigators are also looking into the role of the third, female doctor, in whose car two guns and ammunition were stored.

In another case, Dr Ahmed Mohiyuddin Syed, who claimed to have a medical degree from China, was caught by Gujarat police's ATS. The anti-terror agency also recovered three pistols, 30 live rounds, and four liters of castor oil, a key ingredient used to produce Ricin, one of the world’s most lethal toxins.

What Material Was Recovered From Al Falah University

On Sunday night, a Jammu and Kashmir Police team recovered 350 kg of ammonium nitrate — a powerful, odourless chemical used to make bombs. The raid was based on information given by a Kashmiri doctor, Adil ahmand Rather, arrested earlier for putting up posters in support of Jaish-e-Mohammed in Srinagar.

The recovered items included 20 timers, guns and ammunition and were found with another doctor, Shakeel, who worked at the Al-Falah Hospital in Faridabad.

How And Why Ricin Poison Was Prepared

The doctor was allegedly preparing the highly lethal chemical for a possible attack on sensitive locations in either Delhi, Lucknow, or Ahmedabad, a senior Gujarat ATS officer said Sunday. Ricin is a chemical made from material left over from processing castor beans.
