Ganderbal J-K Terror Attack: At least seven people were killed on Sunday when terrorists opened fire on a construction site in Jammu and Kashmir’s Ganderbal district. The victims involved a Kashmiri doctor and labourers and staff of a contractor working on a tunnel for the Srinagar-Leh national highway.
As a massive search operation was underway in Ganderbal, Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Monday said two foreign terrorists, who have possibly infiltrated from north Kashmir's Bandipora area, were involved in an attack that left seven people dead.
"According to an initial investigation, two people with masks covering their faces -- both possibly foreign terrorists -- entered the mess of the company constructing the Z-morh tunnel and opened indiscriminate fire. Seven people were killed and four injured," Sinha was quoted as saying by news agency PTI.

Sinha also said both the terrorists reportedly infiltrated from the Bandipora area of north Kashmir. "They are being tracked and will be neutralised," he said.

The unidentified terrorists carried out the attack when the labourers and other personnel working on the tunnel project in Ganderbal's Gund returned to their camp late in the evening. Sinha stated that police and security forces have been instructed and granted complete authority to pursue and eliminate those responsible for this brutal act.
Jammu and Kashmir CM Omar Abdullah condemned the terror attack in the district on Sunday. He said, “Very sad news of a dastardly and cowardly attack on non-local labourers at Gagangir in Sonamarg region. These people were working on a key infrastructure project in the area. 2 have been killed and 2-3 more have been injured in this militant attack. I strongly condemn this attack on unarmed innocent people and send my condolences to their loved ones.”
