Ganesh Chaturthi In Mumbai: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicts generally cloudy skies accompanied by heavy rain for Mumbai on Sunday, which could impact outdoor celebrations. Amid the Ganeshotsav (Ganesh Chaturthi) festivities taking place throughout the city, it’s advisable for people to stay updated on weather conditions and plan accordingly.

Mumbai Weather: Weekly Forecast

Mumbai’s weather forecast from September 9-13, 2024, indicates a generally cloudy sky with a mix of moderate to light rain. On September 9 and 10, temperatures are expected to range between 25 degrees Celsius and 30 degrees Celsius, with moderate rain anticipated throughout the period.

By September 11, the maximum temperature is predicted to rise slightly to 31 degrees Celsius, with light rain expected to continue.

On September 12, temperatures will remain between 26 degrees Celsius and 31 degrees Celsius, accompanied by rain throughout the day.

The forecast for September 13 suggests that the weather will remain cloudy with continued rain, and temperatures could peak at 32 degrees Celsius. The consistent cloud cover and rain may provide some relief from the heat but could also impact outdoor activities and events.

Residents are advised to stay updated on weather conditions and plan their activities accordingly.

Mumbai Lake Levels

As per the data shared by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) on Friday, the seven lakes that supply drinking water to Mumbai are currently 98.06 per cent full. This level is approximately 8 per cent higher than it was a year ago.

As of 6:00 am on September 6, the total water stock in the reservoirs stands at 14,19,276 million litres.

Mumbai's water supply, exceeding 3,800 million litres per day, comes from seven key reservoirs: Bhatsa, Upper Vaitarna, Middle Vaitarna, Tansa, Modak Sagar, Vihar, and Tulsi, which are spread across Mumbai, Thane, and Nashik districts.
