According to Senior Police Officer Upasana Pandey, Jitendra is involved in several cases of snatching, robbery and vehicle theft. During interrogation, he admitted to stealing bikes and scooters across the Delhi-NCR region, as well as snatching mobile phones and other valuables.
According to a Times Of India report, the police recovered a country-made pistol (.315 bore) with one live and one empty cartridge from his possession, along with a stolen scooter, a mobile phone and a tablet. Investigators later confirmed the scooter was stolen from Delhi last year, while the phone and tablet were reported stolen on Sunday from the Crossing police station area.
In separate news, a 34-year-old widow accused a moneylender of raping her at gunpoint in city colony. Police said the woman had borrowed Rs 50,000 from the accused, Rihaan, after mortgaging her jewellery and was regularly paying interest. In her complaint, the widow alleged that on September 17, Rihaan entered her house, assaulted her with a firearm and raped her. When she resisted, he allegedly beat her and threatened to harm her children if she spoke out.
On Monday, the victim approached police, following which a case was registered. The woman has been sent for medical examination and search efforts are underway to trace the absconding accused. ACP Mussoorie confirmed the case and assured that the accused would be arrested soon. Police are also investigating whether the accused has been involved in similar offences earlier.
