In a relief for daily commuters of Ghaziabad, an elevated road is set to be constructed between Daulatpura and Hapur intersection. The elevated road will help ease traffic congestion on the GT road. Ghaziabad MP Atul Garg, who announced the construction of the elevated road, said he held a meeting with the officials of the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI). He will soon meet Nitin Gadkari, Minister of Road Transport and Highways to discuss the plan.

"The plan for the construction work is ready, and it will start once we get approval from Road Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari. The elevated road will reduce the traffic jam in the region," Garg said.

Garg claimed that he made several attempts to start the project even when he was the member of the legislative assembly. He further assured that this stands as one of his most ambitious projects, and the construction work will start soon, once approved.

People of the region face several issues on the GT road because of the mismanagement and heavy chaos between Daulatpura RBO and Hapur tiraha. An elevated road will make sure that the people traveling from Delhi to Lalkuan will not have to face heavy traffic jams.

Earlier, cabinet minister Sunil Sharma and the mayor of Ghaziabad, Sunita Dayal, laid the foundation for the construction of several projects on Saturday. In the first phase of this project, the roads from Airport Station to Mohan Nagar Chowk and Karhera Nag Dwar Road to Elevated Road Roundabout will be made model roads. In this, drainage, electrical cables, and other facilities will be underground.
