A woman in Ghaziabad has been arrested for repeatedly making false claims of rape, gang rape, and kidnapping against her husband and his friends. Investigations revealed inconsistencies in her statements, and her latest allegations were proven to be fabricated, as reported by NDTV.
The woman, who was previously in a live-in relationship with Vikas Tyagi, filed multiple complaints against him, including accusations of rape and physical assault. In June last year, she alleged that Tyagi had raped her under the pretext of marriage and that his assault had caused a miscarriage. However, during a judicial hearing, she changed her statement, saying the relationship was consensual and her miscarriage was due to medical reasons.
In August, she approached the police again, claiming that she had been threatened into altering her initial statement. Later that month, she submitted another application stating that she had married Tyagi and requested the closure of her earlier complaints. She even posted a video confirming the same.
Husband Jailed Following Fresh Allegations
Despite withdrawing her accusations, the woman filed another FIR in January, alleging that her marriage had not been conducted properly and that Tyagi had raped her again. She further accused him of attempting to burn her alive. While investigations found her gang-rape claim false, medical reports did confirm burn injuries on her body. As a result, Tyagi was arrested on February 17 and remains in jail.
False Kidnapping and Gang-Rape Allegations
Most recently, on February 25, the woman claimed that three of Tyagi’s friends had kidnapped her, drugged her, gang-raped her, and inserted a bottle into her private parts before abandoning her near Mehrauli Gate. However, CCTV footage showed her leaving her house voluntarily, sitting in a car, and returning home two hours later, walking normally to her flat.
Call records and location data of the accused men also proved that they were not at the scene of the alleged crime. Additionally, medical examinations suggested that the chemical she claimed was poured on her was applied using cotton, further raising doubts about her story.

Police Action and Investigation
Following a thorough investigation, Deputy Commissioner of Police Rajesh Kumar Singh confirmed that the woman’s allegations were fabricated and filed with ulterior motives. Authorities suspect her actions may be linked to securing possession of Tyagi’s flat, where she has been residing since their relationship began.
The woman has now been arrested for making false allegations and misleading law enforcement. Meanwhile, her husband remains in jail based on one of her previous complaints, and the case continues to be under investigation.
